Slaking Vessel is a thermally insulated, safety-enhanced laboratory apparatus designed for precise, repeatable, and standards-compliant monitoring of lime slaking reactivity, providing controlled temperature measurement, homogeneous mixing, and reliable data for material classification, process optimization, and quality control.
Slaking Vessel is a professional quenching apparatus designed for controlled monitoring of rapid slaking behavior and thermal reactivity, intended for slaked lime production and binder R&D studies. The double-walled, thermally insulated stainless steel chamber minimizes temperature fluctuations during highly exothermic reactions while enhancing measurement repeatability. A splash-proof, ventilated lid and overpressure-relief safety valve ensure safe operation. The glass level indicator and wide filling opening allow controlled, clean addition of water and lime. An integrated PT100 temperature probe with digital display—and optional data-logging unit—monitors the temperature–time curve in real time, enabling easy reporting of reactivity peak, slaking rate, and total heat evolution. A chemically resistant mixing impeller and vortex-limiting baffle ensure homogeneous dispersion of particles without clumping, and adjustable mixing speed provides ideal hydrodynamics for different particle sizes and purity classes. Smooth internal surfaces and PTFE-sealed, tool-free removable fittings reduce cleaning time. A bottom discharge valve and drip tray ensure a hygienic and laboratory-compatible workspace. The compact desktop body, non-slip feet, and multi-point clamp slots allow integration with water baths or external mixing platforms. The Slaking Vessel’s dimensional accuracy, sensor positioning, and safety features are engineered to meet performance criteria for reactivity and slaking evaluations of building limes, making it suitable for temperature-rise/reactivity assessments according to EN 459-2 and ASTM C110. Thus, the vessel provides standard-compliant, repeatable, and reportable results for rapid raw material classification, process optimization, and quality record-keeping.
