Manometer take-off ports are positioned at a fixed axial spacing along the cell. Each port features an internal groove and screen assembly that prevents particle migration and ensures accurate measurement of hydraulic head loss. A spring-loaded seating system located on the top cap, together with a porous stone/screen interface, maintains uniform contact between the specimen and the cap. The bottom cap incorporates a flow distributor and an air-release pathway. All wetted parts are manufactured from corrosion-resistant materials; quick-connect fittings allow direct connection to the constant head tank and standpipe system. The manometer stand is equipped with three rigid glass tubes with millimeter graduations, providing clear and stable head readings. The constant-head reservoir has an overflow-regulated design and a transparent body for easy level monitoring. Piping is supplied with chemically resistant tubing and clamps; smooth interior/exterior surfaces support fast cleaning and low maintenance between tests. The system can be configured with different specimen diameters, commonly ≈75 mm and 114 mm, with larger sizes available for coarser materials.
