This process simulates natural weathering conditions in which rocks undergo repeated contact with rainfall, streams, or groundwater. At the end of the test, the specimens are dried and re-weighed to calculate the Slake Durability Index, which numerically represents the rock’s resistance to moisture-induced disintegration. The wire mesh drums used in the device allow free water circulation while securely containing the specimens. The motor system operates at a constant speed to ensure identical test conditions for each run. A digital timer allows the operator to preset test duration, and the motor automatically stops at the end of the cycle, providing both convenience and repeatability.
