Il campione di roccia posto all'interno del corpo cilindrico \u00e8 avvolto da una membrana flessibile e sottoposto a una pressione di confinamento uniformemente distribuita attraverso il fluido idraulico all'interno della camera. Contemporaneamente, il carico assiale viene aumentato tramite un telaio di carico e vengono monitorati la deformazione e il comportamento di rottura del campione.
