EN Automatic Compression Testing Machines with Welded Walls – Cubes, Cylinders, and Masonry Units
EN Automatic Compression Testing Machines with Welded Walls are closed-loop systems designed for accurate and repeatable compressive strength testing of concrete cubes, cylinders, and masonry units in compliance with EN 12390-4.
EN Automatic Compression Testing Machines with Welded Walls – for Cubes, Cylinders, and Masonry Units are advanced closed-loop controlled test systems developed to determine the compressive strength of concrete cube and cylinder specimens, as well as masonry units, in accordance with EN 12390-4 and related EN standards. These machines are engineered for professional laboratories requiring precision, repeatability, and efficient multi-specimen testing on a single platform.
The load-bearing structure is manufactured as a single-piece welded-wall frame. This compact, high-rigidity body design minimizes frame deflection under load and ensures accurate axial load transfer to the specimen. A spherically seated upper platen and a ground, hardened lower platen provide automatic self-centering and uniform load distribution, ensuring consistent contact conditions for cubes, cylinders, and masonry units.
The wide test opening and long piston stroke allow fast setup and testing of various specimen geometries and sizes without structural modification. The hydraulic power unit operates under fully automatic closed-loop control using a proportional valve system. The loading rate defined by EN standards is maintained automatically throughout the test. At specimen failure, the maximum load is captured, compressive strength is calculated in MPa, and the piston is automatically retracted to a safe position, preparing the machine for the next test cycle.
The high-resolution load measurement chain ensures accurate and traceable force readings. Calibration and verification procedures support long-term measurement reliability in accredited laboratories. The integrated touchscreen control unit streamlines test execution and reporting with predefined method templates for cube, cylinder, and masonry unit testing. Real-time load–displacement curves are displayed during testing, and data can be stored internally or transferred via USB or Ethernet.
Efficiency and ease of use are enhanced through a quick-change platen and adapter system, allowing tool-free transitions between cube, cylinder, and wide-surface masonry platens. Centering marks and smooth platen finishes ensure rapid specimen positioning and repeatable alignment.
Safety and durability are integral to the design. A transparent polycarbonate safety enclosure with door interlock switch protects the operator, while emergency stop, overload protection, and stroke limit controls safeguard both user and equipment. Vibration-damping feet, corrosion-resistant surface coatings, and accessible service panels ensure stable operation, easy cleaning, and reduced maintenance time during intensive laboratory use.
