EN Automatic Four-Column Compression Testing Machines for Cubes, Cylinders and Masonry Units

EN Automatic Four-Column Compression Testing Machines are closed-loop systems designed for accurate and repeatable compressive strength testing of concrete cubes, cylinders, and masonry units in accordance with EN 12390-4.

EN Automatic Four-Column Compression Testing Machines for Cubes, Cylinders, and Masonry Units are high-precision closed-loop controlled testing systems developed to determine the compressive strength of concrete and masonry specimens in full compliance with EN 12390-4 performance requirements. These machines are engineered for professional laboratories requiring accuracy, repeatability, high throughput, and operational safety.

The high-rigidity four-column loading frame combined with a single-piece base block ensures precise axial alignment and low frame deflection under load. A spherically seated upper platen and a ground, hardened lower platen provide automatic self-centering and uniform contact conditions during transitions between cube, cylinder, and masonry specimens, minimizing alignment-related errors.

The hydraulic power unit operates under fully automatic closed-loop control using a proportional valve architecture. The system automatically applies the constant loading rates defined in EN standards, independent of operator influence. At specimen failure, the maximum force is detected, compressive strength is instantly calculated in MPa, and the piston is automatically retracted to a safe position.

The wide test opening and long piston stroke allow fast and efficient setup of standard 100×200 mm and 150×300 mm concrete cylinders, common cube sizes, and a wide range of masonry units on the same platform. Capacity options ranging from 2000 kN to 3000 kN maintain dimensional stability even when testing high-strength specimens.

The integrated smart control unit with touchscreen interface accelerates test execution and reporting. Predefined method templates for cube, cylinder, and masonry testing simplify setup, while real-time load–displacement curves are displayed during testing. Test results are stored automatically and can be transferred via USB or Ethernet for laboratory data management and reporting. User authorization features support traceability in quality-control and accredited laboratories.

Safety is ensured by a transparent polycarbonate safety enclosure, door interlock switch, emergency stop system, and stroke/overload limit protections, making the equipment suitable for busy laboratory environments. Corrosion-resistant surface coatings, smooth platen finishes, and accessible service panels enable fast cleaning and reduced maintenance time. Oil filtration and air-bleeding systems extend hydraulic service life, while centering marks, tool-free interchangeable platens and adapters, and level-adjustable feet reduce setup time and operator error.
