Nordic Abrasion Machine

Nordic Abrasion Machine is engineered to determine the abrasion resistance of aggregates subjected to studded-tire–induced wear under standardized testing conditions. A stainless-steel drum mounted on a rigid steel frame rotates at a constant speed via a balanced motor–reducer drive, while steel balls and water generate controlled impact and friction action. Mixing ribs on the inner drum surface ensure homogeneous interaction between the aggregate material and steel balls throughout the test cycle. The sealed drum lid of the Nordic Abrasion Machine, equipped with an O-ring and quick-locking mechanism, prevents fluid loss even during extended test periods. The control panel includes a digital revolution counter and an automatic stop function that safely ends rotation when the preset number of revolutions is reached. Enhanced safety features such as an emergency stop button, over-current protection, and a lid-locking safety switch ensure safe laboratory operation. The smooth surface finish and wide discharge opening allow fast unloading and easy cleaning between batches, reducing downtime and maintenance effort. Abrasion-resistant drive rollers provide extended service life, while adjustable leveling feet dampen vibration and ensure stable bench installation. The Nordic Abrasion Machine is designed to meet EN 1097-9 Nordic test geometry and rotation requirements and can be supplied in single- or multi-drum configurations. The corrosion-resistant construction and compatibility with standard steel ball sets and measurement accessories make the machine suitable for routine and long-term laboratory use.
