The two-piece mould consists of a valved top plate and water inlet/outlet ports. Porous stones or porous disks provide uniform contact on the specimen surface and prevent particle migration into the line. The device is configured in 4 in (≈102 mm) and 6 in (≈152 mm) diameter classes according to laboratory preference. Specimens prepared in Proctor moulds can be transferred directly into these cells while preserving the same volume–dimension relationship. The connection geometry compatible with standpipe manometers and constant/falling head supply systems allows switching between different methods on a single platform.
