Centrifuge Extractor is a centrifugation-based extraction device used to determine the binder (bitumen) content in bituminous mixtures rapidly, reliably, and with high repeatability. The device operates on the principle of separating solvent-dissolved bitumen from the mixture by means of centrifugal force. This method enables fast, safe, and repeatable determination of binder content in both field and laboratory applications. The body is manufactured from heavy-duty cast aluminum. A sealed lid system prevents solvent vapor from escaping to the environment and ensures safe operation. The sample is mixed with solvent and placed into the device. During high-speed rotation in the rotor bowl, aggregates with higher specific mass move outward, while the solvent–bitumen solution is collected from the upper section. After extraction, the solvent is evaporated and the remaining bitumen content is used to calculate the binder percentage. Centrifuge Extractor is offered in multiple capacity options (1500 g and 3000 g class) to meet standard laboratory testing requirements. It provides safe, fast, and repeatable bitumen content analysis in asphalt mixtures, and is particularly suitable for reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP), modified bituminous mixtures, and hot-mix asphalt specimens.
