The standard NF configuration features Ø101.6 mm internal diameter / 116.4 mm body height (~944 mL volume). For coarser materials, compatible assemblies in the 100 mm and 150 mm size classes are also available. Rammers provide the precise energy levels required by the NF Standard and Modified Proctor procedures. Standard Proctor: approx. 2.5 kg mass and 305 mm drop height  Modified Proctor: approx. 4.5 kg mass and 457 mm drop height. The hammer face has a Ø50.8 mm contact diameter. The vented guide sleeves release trapped air during impact to ensure consistent energy transfer on every blow. Ergonomic grips, balanced head geometry, and wear-resistant finishes ensure long service life under intensive laboratory use. The mould body provides high rigidity for axial compaction without distortion. The extension collar and base plate can be installed in either orientation to speed filling, inversion, and specimen removal. The stud-and-wing-nut locking mechanism allows tool-free and secure assembly. Perforated or solid base plate options are available, depending on drainage, cleaning, or swell measurement requirements. The system is compatible with automatic compactors, manual rammers, and specimen extraction jacks.
