Automatic CBR Testing Machine (CBR DigiTest) is designed to determine the California Bearing Ratio (CBR) of sub-base, sub-grade materials, and soils. The system features a motor-driven dual-column load frame with an integrated digital measurement platform. Its rigid body, low-vibration drive, and adjustable loading head ensure uniform axial load transfer and stable penetration at constant speed, producing repeatable load–deformation data. Benchtop configuration and balanced weight distribution provide safe and stable operation in laboratory environments.

The loading mechanism operates at constant penetration speed in accordance with CBR testing standards, and speed can be adjusted by the operator. The 50 kN loading capacity easily meets standard stress requirements for CBR molds. Load is measured by a load cell, and penetration is monitored by a high-resolution displacement transducer. The measurement system supports multi-point calibration for long-term stability and low hysteresis. The adjustable crosshead allows rapid setup with different mold/specimen arrangements. Upper/lower limit switches, emergency stop, and overload protection are included for operator safety and equipment protection. A built-in 7″ touchscreen operator panel simultaneously records load and displacement, enabling real-time graphing, peak-value capture, and automated reporting. Test speed, position, and real-time data are clearly displayed. Test profiles can be stored and recalled for repeated measurements using the same parameters. The microprocessor-controlled touchscreen interface includes preset loading rates and penetration tables compliant with current test standards. Operators may select from standard procedures or define custom test modes with user-specified loading speeds and reading intervals. Real-time load–deformation curves and final CBR values are shown upon completion. Load units (kg or kN) and displacement units (mm or inch) may be selected. English and Turkish language options are available. The system supports 10-point load cell and 10-point LVDT calibration for maximum accuracy. CBR testing is performed by applying load to the soil specimen using the piston of standard cross-section while monitoring load and penetration. Measured loads are compared to standard reference values to calculate CBR at 2.5% and 5% penetration. Higher CBR values indicate stiffer, more resistant materials.
