Abrasion Testing Machine According to Böhme

Böhme horizontal abrasion testing machine is designed to determine the abrasion resistance of concrete paving blocks, flagstones, and natural stone surfaces reliably and reproducibly. A horizontal abrasion table mounted on a rigid steel frame and a precision gearbox–motor drive provide constant rotational speed and uniform contact throughout testing. The loading arm applies standard pressure using a dead-weight system.

A digital revolution counter and programmable operator panel of the Böhme abrasion testing machine automatically stop operation when the preset number of revolutions is reached. Testing begins by placing the specimen onto the horizontally rotating steel disk of the Böhme abrasion testing machine and applying a constant load. Abrasive material is spread onto the surface during the test. While the disk rotates at a constant speed (30 ± 1 rpm), the applied load generates repetitive abrasion on the specimen surface. After the specified number of revolutions, volume loss (mm³) on the test surface is measured to calculate abrasion resistance using the Böhme abrasion testing machine.
