Pressure take-off ports are positioned at a fixed spacing along the specimen height for accurate measurement of hydraulic head loss. Internal retaining grooves and fine stainless mesh screens (≈100 mesh) prevent particle migration while maintaining uniform flow. A spring-loaded seating element located on the top cap maintains consistent contact between the permeameter screen and the specimen surface, ensuring uniform confinement throughout the test. All wetted components are selected for corrosion resistance, and the cell is supplied with integral valves, air-release fittings, and quick-connect plumbing compatible with manometer stands and piezometer lines. The system is available in a range of specimen diameters — 63, 76, 114, 152, and 229 mm — to accommodate various material gradations and test requirements. The permeameter is fully compatible with constant head tanks, differential manometer assemblies, flexible tubing, and de-airing modules; falling-head accessories may also be integrated using the same base frame when alternative test configurations are required.
